REPORT
The students from our partner schools in Tokaj, Veseli nad Lužnicí, Yspertal and Cieszyn met in Hungary at the 12th Junior Eco Expert Project. The host of the Project, which took place from 30th to 4th June, was the Tokaj Ferenc Gymnasium.
The students examined the state of the environment in Tokaj working in six international groups. They dealt with the following topics: measuring immission in Tokaj (with the measuring car of the Inspectorate for Environment), measuring noise, dust pollution (floating dust), traffic intensity - counting the passing vehicles, water quality, the effects of the wastewater treatment plant in Tokaj on the river Tisza, waste load -on the data of the waste management plant in Bodrogkeresztúr.
Apart from doing the research and analysing the data the students had an opportunity to participate in a very interesting afternoon and evening programme, including a lesson of Csárdás, a boat trip on the river Bodrog, sports competitions, a visit to a vineyard with 400-year-old wine cellars, wine tasting and a disco.
The closing ceremony of the project was held on 3rd June. The Head teachers from the partner schools and Mayors or representatives of town councils were present. The participants of this year's Project presented the results of their research in multimedia presentations. A cultural programme prepared by pupils from each of the four partner schools closed the ceremony.
On 4th June we came back home with unforgettable memories of our stay in Tokaj.
