PROGRAMME
The division of groups:
- DENDROLOGY GROUP:
The group dealt with recognizing species of trees and other plants growing in different habitats e.g. in the Čerwenè blato reserve. It is situated 470 metres above the sea level. The area is 331,43 ha and is 10 000 to 12 000 years old. There are glacial relicts of flora and fauna. Nowadays the last stage of slow drying of his marshland is observed. The minimal depth of the marsh is from 3,1 m to 7,6 m. The trees age is estimated as 200.
- PEAT GROUP:
The samples were taken from different depths. The Polish and Austrian groups dealt with phosphorus content determination in the collected samples. The Hungarians together with Czech students determined potassium content. The photometric metod and colour standard scale were applied in the analysis. The highest phosphorus content was found in the sample from the Borkovická Blata reserve- 35-100 mg/kg of dry weight at the depth of 300 cm.
- OAK GROUP:
After some theoretical training the group analysed the state of leaves, bark, presence of pests, polypore and tree heades of 40 oaks. The health state was rated on a five-point scale in which 0 meant healthy and 5 – dry. The majority of trees were rated 2 and 3.
- WATER AND AIR MICROBIOLOGICAL CHECK GROUP:
During the first exploration voyage the students took samples of water and exposed the Petri containers with medium for bacteria reproduction to air for 10 minutes. The containers were stored in the temperature of 30 Celsjus degrees for 2 days and after that the bacterial cultures were examined under a microscope.
- SOIL AND WATER GROUP:
The students were busy with examining water and soil. The samples were taken from lasek in 9 places in the area of Veseli. NH4+ and NO3- ions were determined in the samples.
